Co-Owner Rodney Wilhelm was born in Bay City, Texas, spending the next 10 years living in small country towns in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Nebraska, and finally settling in Colorado in 1974. He worked full-time in the home-improvement environment for 21 years. The company he worked for folded in 2001, and Rodney was in the middle of a “What in the heck do I do now?” scenario. Since the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center was very fresh in his mind, Rodney enrolled in the Federal Heights Fire Academy, graduating near the top of his class. He then was hired at Lockheed Martin Fire Rescue in Littleton, CO, in 2003. Rodney was involved in industrial security, logistics engineering, and crisis management throughout his 13-year career. In 2016, he and the other employees were offered an early buyout.
Rodney eventually moved to Lake County, FL, to be close to his father. As soon as the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, he will be moving his mother to Florida as well.
Rodney’s entire life has been based on helping those in need. He has always been close to his family and witnessed his grandmother being taken advantage of on a regular basis by automotive-repair shops. He has seen his mother, father, friends, coworkers, nieces, neighbors, etc., get taken time and time again. This has driven Rodney to start his own company in Florida to simply help those who want it. He has a theory that, “If you keep doing the right thing, the right things will come to you. It’s a very simple philosophy, and I know I can make a difference.”
Co-Owner Cy Cawthorn was born in Woodstock, New York (“Yeah,” he says, “One of those kids!”), and raised in Northern New Jersey. He has been a successful career entrepreneur since 1995. At the age of 23, he started off in real estate and has succeeded for many years in several real estate verticals, as well as in the “Senior Move Management” industry in the Lake/Sumter/Marion County Region, with five-star reviews. Given his professional and business experience dealing with homeowners, Cy realized that expanding into the Home Watch and consulting services field was a natural extension of his skillsets. His personal business philosophy is simple: “We get by giving; we can get all we want in life when we help enough other people get what they want!”
In his off time, Cy enjoys boating, riding his Harley, showing off his ‘68 El Camino SS at the local classic car cruise-ins, and spending quality time with his family, friends, and three dogs.
