Michiana Home Watch of Buchanan, MI, earns second-year accreditation from the NHWA!
Owner Jim Merkle was raised in South Bend, Indiana, growing up just down the street from the University of Notre Dame’s campus. Even as a youth, Jim was mechanically inclined. He was always involved in helping family and friends with home projects. It was a natural progression for him to move into the Home Watch field. Thirteen years ago, he moved to Niles, Michigan, with his wife, Kate (who provides office support), and they been enjoying Pure Michigan ever since.
With over 30 years’ total experience working with HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, Jim is highly qualified to perform Home Watch inspections. For over 20 years, Jim has worked in building maintenance at a major Midwestern university. Having worked in some of the most iconic buildings on campus, he has a keen eye for spotting issues in buildings.
Providing excellent customer service and building trust in relationships with his clients is a top priority for Jim. He understands that a home is one of the most valuable assets that a person owns. He strives to care for the home as if it were his own. If there are any potential problems found during the Home Watch inspection, Jim will contact the homeowner and discuss potential solutions.
Jim has earned the designation of NHWA Certified Home Watch Professional from the NHWA, making him one of the elite Home Watch providers in the industry. The CHWP designation shows Jim’s commitment to providing excellent service to his clients.
Jim enjoys golfing, visiting area lakes and home improvement/landscaping.
