Lake-Sumter Home Watch of Fruitland Park, FL, earns Accredited Member status from the NHWA!
Originally from Michigan, Owner Scott Larson moved to Central Florida in 2005. Before starting Lake-Sumter Home Watch, Scott’s career was in academia, where he worked as a college instructor teaching classes in philosophy, ethics, and sociology, and as an academic.
Scott heard about Home Watch and looked into it; he was “blown away” by the idea and the opportunity. He feels it’s a great way to give back to his community. With his background in ethics, Scott is dedicated to professionalism and customer service while utilizing cutting-edge technology to provide the highest quality Home Watch service possible.
We always love to see our members giving back to the community. Scott has spent his life doing community service on a wide range of projects ranging from organizing urban neighborhood watch programs to working as a VISTA/AmeriCorps volunteer within the American Red Cross’ Disaster Services, where he oversaw the recovery of multiple towns along the Mississippi River. Scott currently spends his free time volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America, where he sits on the National Cub Scouting Committee, tasked with ensuring that the national program meets the expectations of Cub Scouts and their families. He is also an Assistant Scoutmaster to his son’s Boy Scouts troop and a Den Leader in his daughter’s Cub Scout pack. When not volunteering, he loves hiking, kayaking, and camping in the Ocala National Forest.
Scott resides in Lake County with his wife and two children.
A little about the National Home Watch Association: The NHWA was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada (www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org).
