Home Check One of Peoria, Arizona, has earned accreditation from the NHWA for sixth year. When I first launched the NHWA in 2010, Debra and Jerry Gauthier were among the first people that I pitched the idea of our new Association to. Like most established Home Watch companies, they liked the idea, but wanted to take a “wait-and-see” stance. It took three years, but they finally saw what the NHWA was becoming and joined up. Since then, Deb has gotten more involved by becoming a member of the NHWA Best Practices Committee and has helped organize the Arizona Chapter of the National Home Watch Association. About their business:
Deb and Jerry have lived in Arizona since 1982. Seeing the need for Home Watch services, they co-founded Home Check One in 2008, hoping to offer peace of mind to absentee homeowners.
Deb’s professional experience has been in healthcare and retirement apartment management for over 30 years. During this time, she has been involved in the community as past President of Soroptimist International Valley of the Sun and the Peoria Chamber of Commerce. She was Member of the Year with the NW Valley Chamber and co-founded Human Services Professional (HSP).
Jerry worked in the communications field for over 35 years and the golf industry for 10 years. He is reliable and handy with minor repairs. He has served as the President for the Industrial Development Authority for Peoria City.
We had the pleasure of spending time with Deb and Jerry at the NHWA’s 5th Annual North American Conference in October of 2017, when Debra was a member of the Conference Committee, and again in October of last year at the chapter meeting of the Arizona NHWA members.
Congratulations, Deb and Jerry!
As always, I wish you
A little about the National Home Watch Association: The NHWA was formed in 2009 in order to establish and maintain the highest industry standards for Home Watch and absentee homeowner services throughout the United States and Canada (www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org).
